It’s simply astonishing!!! Last year (2013) and this year (2014) many anime series have been re-released, or rescued and properly released. Some examples for last year are Digimon, Samurai Pizza Cats, Zatch Bell, and Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO). This year, so far, it’s been Ranma ½, Sherlock Hound, Monster Rancher, The Ringing Bell, Dallos, Cardcaptors Sakura, and Sailor Moon. There are still more to list but I can’t list all of them due to my excitement.

Rapid Review – Godzilla
So I just saw Godzilla, and I thought I’d write up a quick impression of the film. Fair warning, spoilers may be ahead.
Donjobo’s Entry
Whelp it’s been a year now and I have not posted a word.
I’m Donjobo and I collect region 1 DVD, U.S. region A, and older media anime except for Laser Disc.
I’ve gotten into the world of anime since 1992 with Nick Jr. shows like The Littl’ Bits & Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics also by watching the Fist of the North Star Movie on Sci-fi Channel’s Saturday Anime block which was pretty sweet if you were 2-to-3 year old at the time.
I own approximately 4 big lot’s bookcases of double shelved anime DVDs and it will still grow. At this time my 4th bookcase isn’t built at this time. I’ve been trying to collect since 2004 but it got better in 2008. These pictures were taken in my Man Cave.
How I collect is to find a series, know what format it’s in, know what options it has to completely own the series (singles, singles box, lite box, thin pack, etc.), and shop around. If one does go in to this sort of hobby like I have, they will get interested in how the Japanese creators came up with the series what struggles the creative cast had to go through to complete this series if you’re lucky. Most of the time I’ve learned about the licensing got into the US and what changes some series went through.
The two questions I get asked are (a) “Why not just own what you like?” and (b) “Why not torrent?”
