Persona 4 The Golden The Animation The Episode 5

This week on Persona 4 The Golden, it’s time to get the band together… for the first time. No getting the band back together. They have to stop being a band for that to happen first.

Part of me wants this announced to start shouting “HELLOOOOOO ZAWAME CITY!”

Marie is on a hunt for more memories to make up for the ones she lacks, and that happens as Yosuke is in trouble. A big event at Junes had to be cancelled and his dad, the manager, had already set up this big sale for it. He needs Rise to do a performance to cover for him or the Junes might do so poorly he would have to move, and we can’t have that. He’s one of my party’s A-Team! I’d have to have more Garu in my Persona set up to cover for him leaving! Rise agrees, but only if the group will be her backup band. And thus begins a training montage.

Persona 4 - 5 - 1

As well as some noticeable animation errors.

During the montage, there’s a bit about Marie overworking herself to make a memory of this and Rise tells her that it’s a pro’s job to make it to the performance in tip-top shape. Come performance day, Rise is trapped at home due to fans, and there aren’t enough tickets for all of them. And pop idol fans not being able to get into a concert they came to a remote town for might riot, and ruin the sale. So they distract them with the Basketball Social Link guy crossdressing.

Persona 4 - 5 - 2

“Come at me, bro!”

The performance goes off well, with Rise jumping in an dueting with Marie who started performance to satisfy the crowd. All and all the episode is ending on a high note as Marie walks away to reflect on the memory she made and embarrassment over Teddie complimenting her voice.

This high note can’t last long. I know that. Annnnnndddddd… Yup. Marie has a plot attack.

Dammit, Adachi. What is it this time?

Next week, apparently it’s a whole episode of Adachi. I am not prepared for this sort of anarchy.

Persona 4 The Golden is available on Crunchyroll.
